BRPT has posted an important recertification notice for RPSGT credential holders. More than 3,000 RPSGTs are due to recertify for the January 1, 2027 cycle—more than ten times BRPT's typical monthly volume. Because applications are reviewed individually, BRPT says current processing times are exceeding its usual 15-business-day review period.
Who should pay attention? If you are within six months of your credential expiration date and are eligible to recertify, BRPT recommends applying as early as possible rather than waiting until your deadline approaches.
What I Recommend
- Check your expiration date now. BRPT allows eligible credential holders to apply once they are within six months of expiration.
- Enter and document your continuing education credits early. BRPT notes that supporting documentation is required and pending credits do not count until reviewed and approved.
- Submit a complete application as early as possible. Earlier submission gives you more time to correct missing information or CEC issues.
- Use expedited review only when truly needed. BRPT lists a $150 expedited processing option with review in 1–3 business days, but it does not guarantee final approval in that time.
Important: This is a recertification-processing notice. It is not an announcement of a new RPSGT exam blueprint, scoring change, or candidate eligibility change.
Sleep Pathways Guild will continue monitoring BRPT for meaningful changes affecting RPSGT candidates and credential holders. If BRPT updates the processing timeline or recertification requirements, I will post another Guild update.
